Kuwaiti organizers set Feb. 2020 as date of next airshow


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) KUWAIT, Jan 20 (KUNA) -- Kuwait's aviation show will now be a biennial event, with the second edition due in February of 2020, the organizers of the country's first-ever aerial spectacle revealed Saturday.

In a press conference to promulgate the date of Kuwait's second airshow, the head of the event's organizing committee Ahmad Behbehani said that Kuwait has now become a force to be reckoned with in the aviation industry.

He pointed out that aviation companies from across the world flocked to the star-studded show that featured riveting performances, saying that holding this event was a "dream come true." Abdullah Bastaki, the committee's advisor, hailed the airshow as a massive step towards development, saying that such high-profile events help give impetus to the national economy.

Meanwhile, Tariq Bastaki, the committee's coordinator, said that a number of deals had been sealed during the four-day show, all of which will be announced in due course.

He added that more than 140 companies from the global aviation industry had their latest products on display for spectators. (end) aam.nam
