Australia ends air strike campaign against ISIS in Iraq


(MENAFN) In the fight against ISIS, the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) has flown its final strike mission over Iraq an RAAF chief marshal said, on Tuesday night.

Providing backing to troops, as they fought to regain Mosul and other cities from ISIS, Australian F/A-18 Hornets have led operations in Iraq since Oct, 2014.

Marise Payne, Australia's Defence Minister announced in Dec that, Australia's operations in Iraq would end, after the Iraqi government announced victory over the extremist group.
