Islamic State claims responsibility for Baghdad suburb attack

(MENAFN) After the recent double suicide attack that killed 11 people on Monday, the Islamic State group has claimed responsibility for the attack in Baghdad, Iraq.

The extremist group says two suicide bombers on Monday targeted Shi'ites in Baghdad's southeastern suburb of Nahrawan, they said in an online statement issued on Tuesday.

IS has carried out insurgent-style attacks in Iraq as the extremists have slowly lost territory across the country over the past three years.
