Russia to resume flights to Egypt in February

(MENAFN- The Peninsula) MOSCOW: Flights between Moscow and Cairo will resume from February next year following a more than two-year break, according to a statement from Russia's Transport Ministry on Friday.

Russia and Egypt signed a protocol on security which would allow direct flights between Moscow and Cairo to resume starting from Feb. 1, the statement said.

Russia suspended all flights to Egypt after a Russian plane carrying 217 passengers and seven crew crashed in the Sinai Peninsula, killing all on board, in October 2015.

The statement added that talks in order to resume charter flights between the two countries would start in April 2018.
