Saudi Arabia Lifts Ban on Importing Poultry and Eggs from Four Countries

Riyadh, Rabi' I 28, 1439 H., December 16, 2017, SPA -- The Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture has lifted a temporary ban on importing poultry and eggs from four countries due to highly pathogenic avian influenza.
In a statement to Saudi Press Agency (SPA), Director General of the Department of Animal Risk Assessment, Dr. Sanad Al-Harbi disclosed that the ministry lifted the ban from Greece, the Czech Republic, Romania and Mozambique.
He added that the ministry received reports from the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE) confirming no new outbreaks of highly pathogenic avian influenza in the past three months in these countries.
