QP holds event for Qatari nationals

(MENAFN- Gulf Times) Qatar Petroleum has organised the first event of its kind designed to align Qataris under development with the corporate's strategy, business plan, and future direction.
The annual event 'Mustaqbalna (our future) aimed at augmenting QP's leadership capabilities by targeting nationals under development as valuable contributors to its future.
It was designed as an opportunity for all nationals under development to meet leaders from different locations and departments, to exchange experiences, and to build collaborative networking groups as a step towards becoming an integral part of QP growth strategy.
Saad Sherida al-Kaabi, QP president and chief executive took part in the 'Mustaqbalna panel discussions where he gave nationals under development an overview of the past three years and the changes that were introduced to place QP as a global oil and gas leader.
'We are aware that the way we did business in the past 20 years is not the same way we should in the next 20 years.
This is why we dedicated a lot of our efforts to transform this organisation so that we become leaner and more agile, al-Kaabi said, adding QP's new corporate strategy focuses on developing a highly capable and motivated workforce across the whole organisation with special emphasis on Qatari development.
Some of the issues covered in the 'Mustaqbalna presentations and discussions included an assessment of global energy demand, the role of renewables in QP's strategy, Qatar's plans to raise its liquefied natural gas capacity to 100mn tonnes per annum, the new QP work culture, and how QP managed to overcome the effects of the blockade in a matter of a few days.
