Kuwait Boxing and Weightlifting Federation open doors to women


(MENAFN- Arab Times) KUWAIT CITY, Dec 10: Chairperson of the interim committee managing the Federation of Boxing and Weightlifting Muhammad Mansi Al-Enezi affirmed that the federation has opened its doors for women to join in the technical agencies for weightlifting through a coaching course that kicked-off recently with 16 trainees, including three Kuwaiti women.

Al-Enezi indicated the objective of the committee is to develop both boxing and weightlifting after years of retardation in the sector, noting the federation will invest all energy into developing the sector in cooperation with the clubs.

Concerning the course for weightlifting coaches, Al-Enezi pointed out that a two-week training program will be conducted by two international Kuwaiti trainers, Abdul-Rahman Al-Mutairi and Muhammad Al-Seyyid. He indicated 'it will be the first of its kind for female trainees and a clear sign of women's progression in weightlifting'.
