Almost 340,000 killed in Syria war

(MENAFN)A Syrian monitor affirmed on Friday that over 340,000 people were killed in Syria's terrible war since it broke out in 2011.

Although international powers are doing their best to bring an end to the aggressive war, the death toll is still increasing and despite that fresh round of peace talks are to be held in Geneva.

Almost 343,511 deaths in Syria were documented between the birth of an anti-government uprising in mid-March 2011 and the start of this month, said the Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.

Almost half of them are civilians, including nearly 19,000 children and 12,000 women.
