South Korea falls behind in global talent competitiveness


(MENAFN) According to a report from the Swiss-based International Institute for Management Development (IMD), for the second year in a row, South Korea has dropped in talent competitiveness particularly in motivating its employees.

It ranked 39th out of 63 surveyed countries in the IMD World Talent Report 2017, dropping from 38th in the previous year, after being placed 32nd in 2013, 34th in 2014 and 32nd again in 2015.

The country was one of the poorest-assessed countries in worker motivation, in addition to low grading for the cost-of-living index, placed at 54th.

South Korea reached the top ten only in education assessment for 15-year-olds field, ranking no.9, which was measured by the Program for International Student Assessment.
