KUNA Chief inspects KUNA's Amman office


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) AMMAN, Nov 24 (KUNA) -- KUNA's Chairman Sheikh Mubarak Al-Duaij Al-Ibrahim Al-Sabah paid a visit and inspected on Friday KUNA's office in Amman, as part of his current visit to the Jordanian capital.

Sheikh Mubarak, who is also the President of the Federation of Arab News Agencies (FANA), was acquainted with the progress of work in the office, and listened to a briefing by KUNA's Amman Office Director Mahmoud Boushehri on all the necessary requirements to facilitate the process of dealing with news and information in order to contribute to raising the level of performance at the office.

Sheikh Mubarak stressed on KUNA'S adherence to professional standards in its work and credibility, neutrality and transparency, and the need to take advantage of the latest technological tools to achieve swift response and reaction in terms of transmitting news to KUNA's headquarters in Kuwait, and to enrich KUNA's bulletin constantly.

He also stressed importance on diversity of news, articles, and to include all political, economic and social fields in addition to preparing reports and taking pictures to support news items that contribute to the enriching of KUNA.

He also underscored the importance of continuing communication and coordination between KUNA'S office and Kuwait's embassy in Amman as well as affiliated offices.

During his visit, Sheikh Mubarak chaired the 45th Assembly of FANA, and unanimously was re-elected, two days ago, by acclamation as FANA President for a second two-year term.

He also signed a cooperation accord with Jordan news agency Petra's Director General Faisal Shboul to increase news services exchange and to foster technical coordination.

The two parties pledged to coordinate news coverage efforts and to serve the two countries' visions and interests on regional and global arenas. (end) mbj.ha
