(MENAFN) The 'Major Project of the Year' awarded by the ITA Awards 2017 went to Qatar Rail for its Doha Metro project, nominated under the "Major Project of the Year - More EUR500 Million" category.
After being shortlisted alongside the Confederation LRT line in Canada, Delhi Metro Line 3 and Tehran Metro line 6, Qatar Rail won the award fair and square.
The ITA awards are considered the highest award in the world in the field of tunneling and underground projects.
