Emir condoles withEgyptian president
His Highness the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani sent yesterday a cable to Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi expressing his condolences on the victims of the terrorist attack at a mosque in Northern Sinai, praying to Allah Almighty to have mercy on the victims' souls and rest them in the Paradise. The Emir wished a speedy recovery for the injured, and reiterated Qatar's strong condemnation of this brutal crime, which is contrary to all religious and human values and principles. Meanwhile, the Foreign Ministry reiterated its firm position against violence and terrorism regardless of its motives. It also stressed Qatar's rejection of targeting of places of worship and terrorising peaceful civilians.

His Highness the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani and His Highness the Deputy Emir Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad al-Thani sent yesterday cables of congratulations to Sooronbay Jeenbekov on his swearing-in as President of the Kyrgyz Republic.

Explosion in Afghancity condemned
Qatar has expressed its strong condemnation of the explosion that targeted a gathering in Jalalabad in eastern Afghanistan and left a number of people killed and injured. In a statement, the Foreign Ministry reiterated Qatar's firm stance in rejection of violence and terrorism whatever their motives and causes were. It expressed condolences to the families of the victims as well as the government and people of Afghanistan, and wished speedy recovery to the wounded.
