Kazakh national bank records reduction on money supply

In Kazakhstan, the money supply, or all money in the economy, decreased by 3.3 percent in October 2017 by 0.4 percent, to 19.825 trillion tenge, the National Bank of Kazakhstan reported.

The volume of cash in circulation in October decreased by 2.1 percent (in January-October - increased by 1.7 percent), to 1.778 trillion tenge.

The monetary aggregate M1, including cash and liquid tenge deposits, decreased by 8.9 percent to 4.991 trillion tenge. The indicator M2, including cash, all tenge and liquid currency deposits, decreased by 3.2 percent to 13.632 trillion tenge.

The monetary base, or money of the National Bank, in October decreased by 6.2 percent to 5.69 trillion tenge. In a narrow expression, the monetary base decreased by 6.5 to 5.3 trillion tenge.

The volume of deposits of second-tier banks and other organizations on accounts of the National Bank of Kazakhstan decreased by 8.7 percent to 3,604 trillion tenge.
