Jordan eyes promising African markets


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Amman, Nov. 24 (Petra) -- Minister of State for Investment Affairs, Muhannad Shehadeh, Thursday, lauded the African market as "promising" to national exports which give made-in-Jordan products a real opportunity to access it for competition.

Meeting representatives of local companies participating in an upcoming trade tour to Tanzania, Kenya and Ethiopia, the minister underscored the need to benefit from business ambience in the Kingdom to open new non-traditional markets in a bid to attract investments that would create job opportunities.

The Jordan Investment Commission in cooperation with the Jordan Chamber of Industry will organize visits of around 30 corporations to the three African nations to help find new export destinations to national products, said the minister.

The visit, he said, aims at building communication bridges with African businesspeople through holding official meetings with the participation of the private sector.

He also pointed out that Jordan has achieved tangible progress on global indicators, namely a recent World Bank report on the ease of doing business index which demonstrate improved investment environment.
