Papua New Guinea Refugees to remove from Australia camp


(MENAFN)In order to end a crisis that has drawn global attention to Canberra's tough asylum-seeker policies, Papua New Guinea police attacked a shuttered Australian detention camp Thursday, driving away dozens of refugees.However; hundreds of men dwelling in the remote camp on PNG's Manus Island refused to leave the site for new, PNG-run centers since Australia closed it on October 31.only around 200 out of approximately 600 men held in Manus have agreed, over the past three weeks to leave for three nearby transition centers, while others insisted they should be resettled in third countries.PNG Police Commissioner Gari Baki mentioned that On Thursday, police moved in and took 50 men to alternative camps.
