PM arrives in Tunisia


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Tunis, Nov 22 (Petra) -- Prime Minister Hani Mulki arrived in Tunis on Wednesday evening for an official visit during which he will head with his Tunisian counterpart the Jordan-Tunisia joint high committee meetings, which will convene its ninth session on Thursday.

The committee will discuss ways to enhance bilateral relations between the two countries and open wider areas of cooperation, especially in economic and trade fields.

The prime minister was received at the Tunis–Carthage International Airport in Tunis by Tunisian Prime Minister Yousef Al-Shahed, and a number of senior Tunisian officials.

In statement delivered upon his arrival in Tunis, the premier said he was pleased with this visit, noting that both countries have many opportunities to increase mutual cooperation, particularly in the economic sphere and facilitate the entry of both countries' products to European and African markets and the entry of Tunisian products to the Middle East.

He pointed out that the two countries' cooperation in the reconstruction of Iraq, and soon in Syria, will be of mutual benefit.

The prime minister underlined as "deep-rooted" the Jordanian-Tunisian relations, which date back to many decades, expressing his confidence that the cooperation of the Arab nation and the implementation of agreements signed between its countries will contribute to strengthening relations and achieving economic renaissance.

Mulki is accompanied by an official delegation, including Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply Yarub Qudah, a delegation of the Jordanian private sector from chambers of commerce and industry and local businessmen.
