Jordan- Parliament committee receives Omani ambassador

(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Amman, Nov. 22 (Petra)-The Jordanian-Omani Brotherhood Committee at the Parliament on Wednesday met with Omani Ambassador to Jordan Khameis Al-Farsi.

Chairman of the parliamentary panel, MP Ali Hajahjeh, highlighted the need to exchange relevant legislature expertise, saying joint visits will help emerge with "closer stances" towards issues of mutual interest.

He added today's meeting is a bid to foster bilateral ties, lauding them as "longstanding and deep-rooted".

He also stressed the need to look into appropriate ways to facilitate travel arrangements to support the two countries' tourism sector and to expand cultural exchange framework, a step to be achieved through diverse scholarship programs at all educational levels.

The Omani envoy, on his part, hailed the Kingdom's regional role and the committee's efforts to bolster economic, social and political cooperation ties.

He also said the Palestinian cause is a pan-Arab issue and the Hashemite custodianship on Jerusalem holy sites is historically entrenched.
