UAE- Masdar to host International Water Summit in January 2018

ABU DHABI, 22nd November, 2017 (WAM) -- The 6th International Water Summit, IWS, will be hosted by Masdar as part of Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, on January 15-18, 2018.

A leading event for promoting water sustainability in arid regions, the summit provides an extensive exhibition, a high-level conference and an exclusive matchmaking platform, offering a unique opportunity for stakeholders to witness and learn more about the latest innovative technologies impacting the industry.

Hosted in partnership with ADWEA, Abu Dhabi Water and Energy Authority, the event attracts thousands of attendees from over 100 countries across the globe, building knowledge, expertise and partnerships to execute the massive investments in water infrastructure being made in the region.

Bringing together global industry leaders and sector specialists, IWS is not only the leading platform for innovations, product launches and valuable business networking, but also the event for making connections that will lead stakeholders into new sector markets.

The three-day conference at IWS has become a must-attend event for the ideas and innovation on the future of water industry to hear about future infrastructure projects plans, government strategies and market-leading innovation.

Abdullah Ali Musleh Al Ahbabi, Chairman of ADWEA noted ADWEA's commitment to strengthening cooperation with strategic partners, in line with its interests and plans. He highlighted that the authority's participation in Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week will bolster the emirate's international standing in innovation, efficiency and sustainable investments, as guided by the Abu Dhabi 2030 Vision.

He underlined the importance of partnering with Masdar in order for ADWEA to realize its goal of leading the water and electricity sectors by 2020.

Al Ahbabi added that ADWEA's model is currently leading the regional sector in privatisation and attracting global investments, with 11 companies having been founded in collaboration with the private sector over the past 12 years.
