AMMAN —AlGhad— Demand on household gas has increased by 21 per cent yesterday, Tuesday, as Jordan's first cold front settles in.

According to the association of gas distribution stations, demand increased to 90.2 thousand tubes yesterday, compared to 74.5 thousand on Monday.

Demand throughout the month of November has exceeded 1.5 million tubes, compared to 1.2 million in October.

Meanwhile, change in demand on other fuels remains relatively constrained, due to the receding purchasing power of consumers.

According to the Association, most customers buy fuels on debt and credit, which is already building up strains on their incomes, or through gift cards.

With the exception of demand on Kerosene, which stands at 1.5 million litres in November, at JOD0.52 per litre, demand on fuel remains unchanged.

So far, the price of household gas remains at JOD7 per tube.

However, the prices of Octane fuels, 90 and 95, have increased to JOD0.69 and JOD0.91 per litre, respectively.
