Triathletes young and old were put through their paces at the recent GMC Triathlon Race 1 which concluded recently.
The triathlon was organised by TriDoha in association with Qatar Foundation and Z Adventures, with the event's primary sponsor and Qatar's exclusive GMC dealer Mannai Auto Group providing winners' medals.
The Series, packing in a run, cycle and swim, saw an excellent turnout of over 300 competitors in good conditions.
TriDoha LLC(G) is triathlon club founded to serve triathletes of all abilities in Qatar. The club has about 400 members ranging from complete beginners to world-class triathletes, and aged from seven and adults.
Ewan Cameron, race director and representative of Mannai Corporation, commented: 'We had another fantastic turnout and were seriously impressed with some of the times posted across all the categories.
'I would also like to thank our 40 volunteers for safely marshalling the events. Among them were 30 active triathletes who had given up the opportunity to race in order to support the event.
'Given the calibre of the entrants, we are really looking forward to the next big event.
The next GMC TriSeries race is planned on January 19. This event will also feature the annual Schools Championship and the Corporate Championship.
Winner medals can be collected from the Mannai office (above GMC showroom) at Ramada Signal/Salwa Road during regular office hours.
