At least 30 people killed in Nigeria over brutal interethnic clashes
'Thirty Fulani [ethnic group] children and women were killed during the attacks in Numan villages by suspected Bachama farmers and already investigation has commenced to arrest the suspects,' Othman Abubakar said as quoted by the local Premium Times newspaper.
The newspaper also suggested that the Bachama youths had been threatening herdsmen in the area to leave the territories.
The incident is another major attack on Nigeria's civilians over the past days.
On Tuesday, at least 50 people were killed by a suicide attack in a mosque in the city of Mubi in northeastern Nigeria.
