(MENAFN- Tribal News Network) PESHAWAR: Private Schools Association on Tuesday set up a protest camp to protest a Regulatory Bill to regulate private schools in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa asking the government to make changes to it.
The camp was set up by the National Education Council outside Peshawar Press Club where owners and heads of private schools joined the camp. The protesters were holding banners and placards inscribed with anti-government slogans.
The participants criticized the provincial government for pushing the private schools to the wall and said that the bill would economically strangulate the private education.
Talking to Tribal News Network, chairman of the council Nazar Hassan demanded of the government to give proper share in funds being received from foreign donors instead of reducing annual fee of the schools.
He said that the camp would continue for three-days and if the government refused to make changes to the bill they would launch province-wide drive. The provincial government has prepared a bill to regulate private schools and streamline its fees.
