(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) Informing motorists of the new speed limits, last week the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) painted the stretch on in red.
The RTA carries out periodic review of some vital streets and highways in Dubai to adjust the speed limits up or down, depending on the condition of the road and the surrounding environment. This is done to minimize the number of accidents caused due to over-speeding.
The RTA and Dubai Police are coordinating several preventive measures to maintain the safety of road users and these include changing the speed limit signs to and the directional and awareness signage; which in turn govern the traffic relationship between road users.
