Qatar Chamber reviews economic cooperation with Sudan

Qatar Chamber (QC) vice chairman Mohamed bin Ahmed bin Towar met with a high level Sudanese delegation headed by governor of North Kurdufan Ahmed Mohamed Haroon at the chamber, yesterday.
The meeting focused on enhancing cooperation relations in economy, trade, investment in agriculture and food security sectors.
Both sides affirmed the importance of developing trade and investment cooperation ties between the private sector of both countries, especially in North Kurdufan which is rich of investment opportunities.
On his part, Haroon said that Qatar and Sudan enjoy strong relations, affirming that there are host of investment opportunities in Sudanese economy, particularly after lifting the trade sanctions on the Sudan.
Bin Towar said that the Sudan in a haven for Arabic food security projects due to the huge potentials it enjoys including fertile lands, irrigation water and raw materials. There are promising opportunities of investment in the Sudan in sectors of agriculture, livestock and mining, he noted. Qatar has big agricultural investments in Sudan and Qatari businessmen have keen interest to increase investment in the Sudan. Bin Towar assured the chamber's support to building active partnerships among both countries' businessmen and the great efforts it exerts for enhancing Qatari investments in the Sudan.
