(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Ramallah, Nov. 21 (Petra) - A number of Palestinians early Tuesday were injured in clashes with Israeli forces as around 1,000 settlers stormed what they claim to be "Joseph Tomb" east of Nablus city under heavy protection of the occupation army.

The Palestinian official in charge of the settlement file in the northern part of the West Bank, Ghassan Douglas, said in a statement that a number Israeli military vehicles, including a bulldozer, stormed the eastern area of the city near the tomb to secure the entry of the settlers, noting that clashes broke out between dozens of Palestinian youths and Israeli soldiers, who fired tear gas canisters and stun grenade, leaving a number of the youths suffocated.

The Palestinian Red Crescent Society said in a statement that a Palestinian young man was injured during confrontations with Israeli troops at the entrance to Balata refugee camp, east of Nablus.

The PRCS administered first aid to the injured before transferring him to the Rafidia Hospital, adding that another youth was injured by Israeli rubber bullets. WH
