Frankenmuth, MI -- December in 'Michigan's Little Bavaria' is magical, so make plans to enjoy one of the area's most anticipated culinary events – the Bavarian Inn Restaurant's annual 'Holiday Wine Dinner' on Wednesday, Dec. 13 beginning at 6:30 p.m.

Silver Plate Award winner Chef Phil Fahrenbruch has planned and will be preparing a special seasonal five-course dinner with wine pairings and guest commentary by Belinda LaDouce, certified sommelier at Great Lakes Wine & Spirits, a premier statewide distributor of globally-sourced fine wines and select spirits.

The menu includes Char Siu Bao Bun, a barbecue beef dish served with Egri Merlot from Hungary, and Butternut Squash Risotto with Bacon and Sage Aioli, accompanied by Camelot Mead, an orange blossom honey wine produced by Oliver Vineyards in Bloomington, IN. Also featured is a shrimp chowder served with Bavarian Inn's own Liebfraumilch, a light semi-dry German wine with a creamy finish.

Following a pear sorbet refresher comes the main course: Traditional Beef Oscar with crab meat and asparagus, topped with a rich Béarnaise sauce, and served with a Big Smooth Lodi Cabernet Sauvignon from the Sonoma/Napa Valley region.

Dessert is a festive Flourless Chocolate Torte with Peppermint Ice Cream, accompanied by a Fizz 56 Brachetto Spumante from Italy's Piedmont Region.

Price for this special 'Holiday Wine Dinner' event is $60 per person, which includes all food and listed beverages, tax, and gratuity. Reservations and prepayment are required. Reservations may be made by calling 1-800-BAVARIA or 989-652-9941. For more information, go to www.bavarianinn.com and view the calendar of events.
