National Geographic Kids Abu Dhabi world's first channel of its kind: Minister

ABU DHABI, 20th November, 2017 (WAM) -- The "National Geographic Kids Abu Dhabi" is the first Arabic-language channel of its kind in the world, Noura bint Mohammed Al Kaabi, Minister of Culture and Knowledge Development, has state.

Speaking to the Emirates News Agency, WAM, on the sidelines of the channel's launch ceremony today, the minister affirmed that the launch goes in unison with Abu Dhabi Media's strategy to invest in the unlimited capabilities of "our children and widen their horizons in areas of science and technology", commending in this regard the directives of the UAE wise leadership to develop a culture of innovation among children.

Dr. Ali bin Tamim, Director-General of Abu Dhabi Media, for his part, said that the support provided by H.H. Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of Abu Dhabi Executive Council for the launch of the channel enriches the science and research-oriented media content addressed to Arab audiences across the region, adding that the launch coincides with the international celebration marking the Universal Children's Day.

"The channels targets children aged between 8 and 13 years old and features exciting content delivered in classic Arabic to develop children's mental difficulties and hone their scientific skills in a way that creates a generation capable of delivering the future," he added.
