KHORFAKKAN, 20th November, 2017 (WAM) -- The Municipal Council of Khorfakkan City has completed its preparations for the country's 46th National Day, which will include many activities to celebrate this national event.
The National Day celebrations are scheduled to begin on Wednesday at the Khorfakkan Corniche, with a full schedule that will start with an air show with Mirage 2000 fighter aircraft and another air show with F16 fighter aircraft. The UAE's air display team, Al Fursan, will then perform an air show that will include an aerial formation of the UAE flag and other skilful aerial movements.
The Sharjah Police Band will also perform national compositions and a national operetta, which will then be followed by consecutive folk music performances by the bands, Al Harbiya, Al Liwa and Al Aazi. The poets, Dawood Al Shehhi, Faisal Al Naqbi and Maryam Al Naqbi, "Sajaya Al Rouh," will perform their poems about their love for the UAE and its wise leadership and the concepts of the nation and sacrifice.
Sultan Yaqoub Al Mansouri, Director of the Amiri Court in Khorfakkan, said, "The City of Khorfakkan has preferred to celebrate the National Day prior to 2nd December, as we consider every day to be National Day, out of our adoration and belonging to the land and nation in which we live, and for what our wise leadership, represented by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and his brothers, Their Highnesses, the Members of the Supreme Council, the Rulers of the UAE, have achieved for us in terms of economic prosperity and overall development, as well as the stability that most other countries envy us for."
Abdullah Mohammed Al Sam Al Naqbi, Chairman of the Khorfakkan Municipal Council, said, "The country's National Day is a platform to consider the accomplishments that were achieved over four decades, which have enabled the UAE of Giving to attain a leading position among the ranks of the world's countries. On this occasion, we will renew our pledge of loyalty and belonging to the UAE of Giving and its wise leadership, which has spent all that is dear and precious to achieve the happiness and welfare of its people and the residents of its good land."
