Qatar- QIIB stresses safety of its systems

(MENAFN- The Peninsula) QNA

Qatar International Islamic Bank (QIIB) has confirmed the safety of its systems and that they are not easy to penetrate, following a recent audio clip circulating on social media about customers' exposure to fraudulent calls that resulted in their loss of money due to alleged weak systems used by the bank.
QIIB said yesterday that the claim is not true, adding the fact is that the whole thing is not related to the systems of the bank, but rather is a result of customers' failure to comply with the bank's repeated advice and warnings that no company, person or caller should be given confidential data about their bank accounts.
The bank added that it periodically sends messages to customers warning them of fraudulent calls and links that they claim to be from banks or from telecoms companies. The messages explain that banks can not send messages or contact the customers and ask them for their secret numbers or codes to access banking services online or on mobile phones.
QIIB urged customers to abide by instructions and advice and not to provide any caller from any party with information about the bank account and to not open suspicious links, with the obligation to promptly report any fraudulent attempts that they face. The bank affirmed that it reserves the right to take all legal measures against those who promote misinformation affecting the bank or its customers or to harm the high degree of trust, credibility and security that characterise all transactions of QIIB.
