Qatar Self Sufficiency Exhibition to boost nation's self reliance

Over 120 local and global companies are expected to show their products in ‘Qatar Self Sufficiency Exhibition 2018' that will begin from April 1 next year at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center (DECC).
The three day expo will see participation of companies from various food industry including healthcare, agriculture, heavy industries, manufacturing and other related sectors.
'The idea for the Qatar Self Sufficiency exhibition emanated from the bold vision of Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, to diversify the economy and the importance of self-sufficiency. Qatar has made significant developments in increasing its personal profile for self-sufficiency, said Abdulrahman Saleh Al Obaidly, Chairman of Hisky for Tourism and Exhibitions said yesterday in a press conference.
'The exhibition is a must-attend event for key professionals in the global production and manufacturing sectors to showcase their latest innovations and those looking for the solutions to facilitate growth and enhance their contribution to the forward-thinking national agenda. As a first-of-its kind event, it will provide exhibitors greater, easier access and crucial face-time with their target audience. We look forward to the participation of governmental and semi-governmental institutions and to all investors looking to be part of the Qatari market.
Planned to be spread over an area of 10,000 sqm, the exhibition will attract companies from more than 10 countries. The exhibition will provide industry heavyweights, production line manufacturers, and decision makers the perfect platform to demonstrate how they are helping to shape the country's future.
'In addition to providing a platform for exhibitors to showcase their latest innovations, the Qatar Self Sufficiency Exhibition 2018 will serve as a conduit for industry and manufacturing powerhouses to share expertise, knowledge and, ideas and vision on how collective contributions can be enhanced in the interests of the Qatar National Vision 2030. Under the QNV 2030 plan, Qatar's inspirational leadership has already embarked on positive steps to diversify the economy away from a reliance on fossil fuels, with a vast range of continued investments spanning the full spectrum of sectors, said Youssef Ahmed Taher, CEO of Hisky for Tourism and Exhibitions.
City Center Rotana Doha Hotel was announced as the Official Hotel Partner for the event.
