The Ministry of Municipality and Environment's (MME) Agriculture Affairs Department has extended its support to the local farms in marketing their products through the excellent product programme.
The initiative provides sales points for the local agriculture products of excellent quality at most shopping malls around the country. Recently, a new sales point at Carrefour Hypermarket, City Center Doha, was introduced in addition to the existing sales points at the various branches of Al Meera Consumer Company.

Many vegetables are produced by local farms.

The Agriculture Affairs Department launched on October 26 the activities of the 6th season for the Qatari agriculture products for 2017-2018 at the yards of Al Mazrouah, Al Khor and Al Zakhira, and Al Wakrah with the participation of 80 local farms. This is part of the MME's efforts to improve the marketing of local farm products and help local farmers increase their production.
The three yards for selling local vegetables work on Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 7am until 5pm. However, the livestock market and animal fodder stores at Al Mazrouah continue to work throughout the week during the same working hours.
