(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Amman, Nov. 20 (Petra)--A memorandum of understanding was signed on Monday between Al Hussein Technical University (HTU) founded by the Crown Prince Foundation and Jordan Green Building Council as part of the two parties' efforts to develop new fields of cooperation in the areas of exchange of experiences, training and awareness.

The agreement which was signed at HTU campus in King Hussein Business Park, Amman, was signed by H.E. Prof. Labib Al Khadra; HTU President and Jordan GBC Chairman Eng. Abdullah Bdeir.

Al Khadra pointed out the importance of this collaboration, which will assist HTU students in developing a portfolio of advanced skills and knowledge in Green Architecture which enables them to become positive contributors to the sustainable development of the Kingdom and the region.

Bdeir stressed on the importance of empowering the young generation to practice their role as active members of the community through capitalizing on the latest Jordan GBC initiatives such as the Green Affordable Housing campaign and the empowerment of the solid waste management supply chain as part of the overall green infrastructure schemes given the responsibility of the building sector as a major consumer of resources such as water, energy and generation of solid waste.

Under the MoU, Jordan GBC will offer several training opportunities in the green building field to HTU students, conduct joint research efforts, and connect HTU's student with contractors and consulting firms in the green building sector.
