Wales: smacking ban to be discussed

(MENAFN) Children's minister Huw Irranca-Davies warned that contemporary and progressive Wales does not tolerate physical punishment of children.

Minister Irranca-Davies insisted that the situation can "no longer be acceptable" as a meeting to discuss a smacking ban has been scheduled to take place in January.

Even though the NSPCC, a children's charity, has embraced the proposal, some protesters pointed out that the ban will possibly criminalize ordinary parents.
