The Criminal Investigations Department (CID) has begun an investigation over false claims made last evening of another fuel shortage in the country.
The claims led to panic buying by motorists in some areas.
The Petroleum Resources Development Ministry said that there was no fuel shortage in the country and that there was ample stocks. (Colombo Gazette)
