A 33-year-old businessman who allegedly refused to cooperate with a traffic police officer and sped off in his white Maserati, dragging him more than 100 meters on Friday night, was charged in a Singapore court the next morning with causing grievous hurt.
At 9:20pm on Friday, Lee Cheng Yan was allegedly involved in a hit-and-run incident in which Staff Sergeant Khairulanwar Abd Kahar, 26, was seriously injured after an document check against Lee's vehicle on Bedok Reservoir Road, Shin Min Daily News reported on the weekend.

The uploader of a that was shared on Roads.sg, a witness to the incident, noted in the caption that the Maserati driver had sped off and dragged the police officer more than 100 meters.
A domestic helper who worked for Lee told Shin Min Daily News that her employer's driver's license had been revoked in July because of repeated traffic violations.
The injured officer was taken to Changi General Hospital for treatment for multiple abrasions, The Straits Times reported.
According to Singapore law, the maximum penalty for a person who causes grievous hurt by performing a rash act is four years in jail and a fine of S$10,000 (US$7,375).
