Uzbekistan's major bank allowed to open branches abroad

The National Bank for Foreign Economic Activity of Uzbekistan was granted the right to create representative offices, branches, subsidiaries in foreign countries - economic partners of the country and to attract state budget funds as deposits.

This follows from the presidential decree "On measures to further improve the activities of the National Bank for Foreign Economic Activity of the Republic of Uzbekistan".

The document defines the main activities of the Bank in the areas of foreign economic activity, support to small businesses and private entrepreneurship, as well as retail banking services.
In addition, under the resolution, within two months a new edition of the bank's charter and the updated membership of its board will be approved.

Since 1993, according to the ratings of The Banker magazine, the National Bank of Uzbekistan is among the Top 1000 of the world's largest banking institutions and occupied 962 places in 2016.
