JIAT Spokesman and Legal Advisor Mansour bin Ahmed Al-Mansour also said that regarding the report issued by (Human Rights Watch) on (December 2016), claiming that Coalition Forces attacked (Al-Zaydiyah security building in (Al-Zaydiyah district), (Hodeida Governorate), between (8:00 pm-9:00 pm) on (October 29, 2016), resulted in number of casualties to Armed Houthi militia, and some civilians. The Houthis setup military personnel and armed vehicles with machine guns at (Al-Zaydiyah Security Building). JIAT assessed the incident, and reviewed all related documents, including the procedures and Rules Of Engagement, the Daily Air Mission Schedule, and verified the evidence, JIAT found that based on intelligence information that on (29/10/2016), leaders of the Armed Houthi Militia accompanied by foreign experts from different nationalities have seized the government compound (Al-Zaydiyah Security Building) for military purposes. Thus; the building lost its legal protection prescribed in International conventions. Coalition forces targeted the building, using precision guided bombs.
JIAT concludes that, the procedures of the Coalition forces were correct, and in accordance with International Humanitarian Law and its Customary Rules, Al-Mansour added.
