Riyadh, 01 Rabi'I,1439 AH, 19 November,2017 , SPA -- A delegation of the Shura Council headed by its Speaker Sheikh Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al Al-Sheikh is participating in the second meeting of the Executive Council of Asian Parliaments Union and the tenth meeting of the General Assembly of the union being held in Istanbul.
In a press statement, Dr. Al Al-Sheikh stressed the importance of the Shura Council's role in promoting Asian parliamentary cooperation which reflects the status of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud to support peace and stability in the Asian continent and the world at large.
He pointed to the size of the support provided by the Kingdom to various countries of the world, making it rank sixth among the top 10 donor countries for development aid in the world according to statistics of the United Nations, where the total expenditures on humanitarian assistance programs over the past four decades totaled ($ 115 billion) benefiting more than 90 countries in the world.
