Malcolm Young of AC/DC dies at 64


(MENAFN) Guitarist, song writer and founding member of the Australian legendary hard rock band AC/CD Malcolm Young has died last night at 64 years of age.

AC/DC announced the death Saturday on their official Facebook page and website Saturday.

A representative for the band confirmed that the posts were true, the posts did not say when or where Young died, but said the performer had been suffering from dementia, in which he was diagnosed in 2014.

"It is with deepest sorrow that we inform you of the death of Malcolm Young, beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother. Malcolm had been suffering from Dementia for several years and passed away peacefully with his family by his bedside," one of the posts read.

Along with his brother Angus, they formed an iconic band that introduced wonder songs such as "You Shook Me All Night Long", "Thunderstruck" and "Back in Black".

AC/DC is most known globally by their iconic head-banging "Highway to Hell" in which is widely considered one of the most memorable hard rock ballads of all time as well as being their greatest hit ever.
