The Private Engineering Office will hand over on Tuesday a hospital project and a health centre in Ras Laffan City to Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) in coordination with the Ministry of Public Health.

After receiving the hospital and the health centre, HMC will provide the necessary equipment for the operation of these two health facilities in accordance with its set plan.

The hospital is one of the three hospitals to be implemented by the Private Engineering Office to strengthen the health sector in the State. The facilities included Abu Nakhla General Hospital, which was handed over to HMC about a year ago, Ras Laffan Hospital and Mesaieed Hospital to be delivered by the end of this year. .

These three hospitals contribute to improving the level of health services in general as a result of their absorption into the workforce in the areas they serve, thus reducing pressure on hospitals in Doha.

Ras Laffan City Hospital is located on a land area of approximately 200,000 sqm and consists of an underground floor and a ground floor and two upper floors with a capacity of 118 beds on a total area of the hospital about 49,000 sqm.

The total area of the hospital includes a primary health care centre with an area of 7,200 sqm, as well as the services of the National Medical Center in order to reduce pressure on the health centres in the vicinity of Ras Laffan City.

The project has supporting service facilities, including a mosque for 400 worshipers and a cafeteria with a total area of about 1,300 sqm to accommodate the expected high density of workers and other facilities.

The construction took three and a half years and was built according to the approved standard specifications, especially in terms of construction of green buildings.

The construction of the second labour hospital in Qatar is part of the State's interest in providing high quality health services to all segments of society within the framework of Qatar National Vision 2030.
