Libyan Militants facing court due to attacks on Egypt western desert


(MENAFN)State news MENA reported on Friday that a Libyan militant and 14 others are held for 15 days under the accusation that they are involved in a deadly attack in Egypt's western desert last month.

Abdul Rahim Mohammad Al Mesmari, from the Libyan city of Derna, got arrested by Egyptian forces following an air raid in response to the attack, the Interior Ministry said on Thursday.

MENA said that Mesmari is accused of premeditated murder of police officers, possession of firearms and joining a terrorist organization.

Egyptian security forces that have been battling Daesh terrorism in the Sinai Peninsula since 2013 are facing a new threat since the new group called Ansar Al Islam claimed responsibility for the October attack.
