Pakistan- Action against Faizabad protesters deferred till tomorrow


(MENAFN- Tribal News Network) ISLAMABAD: The residents of twin cities have to wait for another 24 hours to see their roads clear of protesters as Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal on Saturday morning asked the district administration to defer action against the protesters for another 24 hours.

The protesters has camped out at the Faizabad Interchange causing immense difficulties to the people of Islamabad and Rawalpindi.

The order was given to avoid any clash and to allow the protestors 24 hours more to disperse before taking action. A heavy contingent of Islamabad Police, Frontier Corps and Rangers personnel who are equipped with tear gas and shell guns arrived at the Faizabad Interchange to implement the Islamabad High Court order of removing the protesters.

The action was deferred after talks were held with the protesters. Senator Raja Zafarul Haq will head a negotiating team to hold a second round of talks with religious leaders and scholars later today.
