RIYADH, 18th November, 2017 (WAM) -- The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has decided to recall its ambassador in Berlin in protest against the German Foreign Minister, Sigmar Gabriel's comments on the Lebanese crisis, the Saudi Press Agency, SPA, has reported.

The agency quoted a statement from an official source at the Foreign Ministry of the Kingdom, on the incorrect comments made by Gabriel during his meeting with his Lebanese counterpart, and said that these statements are surprising and are disapproved by Saudi Arabia.

"Such remarks provoke the surprise and disapproval of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia which considers them as aimless and based on false information that would not help bring about stability in the region," the source said, adding that these comments do not represent the position of the friendly government of Germany, which Saudi Arabia considers as its reliable partner in the war against terrorism and extremism.
