Iran criticizes France over comments on its missile program

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) TEHRAN, Nov 18 (KUNA) -- Iran's Leader top Aide Ali Akbar Velayati said on Saturday that "French president's interference in Iran's missile program is not in interest of France and Macron." In a televised interview with state television, Velayati said "it is not in interests of France and the French President Macron to interfere in issues of sensitivity to Iran, like missiles and strategic affairs of Iran," warning "not to interfere in the state affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran." "Such interferences have no effect other than tarnishing the reputation of French government in the eye of the Islamic Republic of Iran," said Velayati, adding he condemns and denounce the recent anti-Iran remarks of French President Emmanuel Macron made during his tour last week.

"We never ask for the permission of others in regards to our defensive issues or what range of kilometers should our missiles be for," the official categorically rejected any chance for negotiating over Iran's missile program.

Last week in Dubai, President Macron said in a press conference that there might a possibility for forcing sanctions on Iran's missile program, a program considered by Paris to be a destabilizing factor to the region. (end) mw.mb
