Meethotamulla garbage dump fire extinguished

The fire at the Meethotamulla garbage dump was extinguished by the fire brigade with the assistance of the army and Police.
The fire is reported to have been ignited by methane gas in the dump.
In March this year a similar fire erupted at the dump. (Colombo Gazette)
