Dubai Police organises walk for tolerance

DUBAI, 16th November, 2017 (WAM) -- Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister for Tolerance, and Ohoud bint Khalfan Al Roumi, Minister of State for Happiness and Wellbeing, participated in "The Walk" for tolerance at the City Walk in Dubai, which was organised by the Dubai Police General Command, in co-operation with the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Tolerance Award, the Community Development Authority, the Watani Al Emarat Foundation and the Meraas Group, and with the sponsorship of Al Umneyat, to mark the annual International Day for Tolerance on 16th November.

The walk also saw the participation of Lt. General Dahi Khalfan Tamim, Deputy Chairman of Police and General Security in Dubai; Dr. Hamad Al Shaibani, Director-General of the Department of Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities in Dubai; Saeed Hareb, Secretary-General of the Dubai Sports Council, and the assistants of Major General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of the Dubai Police, as well as several directors of general and branch departments, commanders of police stations, prominent national figures, members of the consular corps, heads of various other departments and school students.

The walk was started by an initial group that included students from many nationalities and the UAE national anthem was played as it toured the City Walk, with the participation of over 70 nationalities. The event aims to establish the values of love, tolerance, co-existence and brotherhood in the UAE.

At the end of the walk, Sheikh Nahyan honoured its working team and participants. He also toured the Dubai Smart Police Station with the other attendees.
