(MENAFN- The Conversation) Giovanni Luca Ciampaglia is a research scientist at the Indiana University Network Science Institute (IUNI). Before joining IUNI he was the recipient of a Swiss National Science Foundation Postodoctoral fellowship, an analyst for the Wikimedia Foundation, and a research associate at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich. He serves as associate editor for the Journal of Computational Social Science (Springer) and has served as the co-chair of SocInfo 2017, track chair of WWW 2018, and in the program committee of several international conferences (ICWSM, CSCW, CHI, HyperText, WWW, NetSci) and of several journals (TKDE, TOIT, TOIS, J. Royal Society: Interface, etc.) He is interested in information quality in cyber-human systems, in particular trustworthiness and reliability of information in intelligent systems. His work has been funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation and the Democracy Fund, and has been covered in major news outlets, including the Wall Street Journal, the Economist, Wired, MIT Technology Review, NPR, CBS News, and Nature, to cite a few.
