Doha: The Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani and President of Turkey Recep Tayyib Erdogan held a meeting at the Emiri Diwan on Wednesday.
Emir discussed regional developments and bilateral ties with Erdogan, a month after a meeting between the two leaders in the Turkish capital, Ankara.

This is the Turkish leader's second visit to the Gulf country since the start of a major diplomatic crisis in the region more than five months ago.

Erdogan arrived in the Qatari capital on Tuesday to attend the third meeting of Turkey-Qatar Supreme Strategic Committee to be held on Wednesday.

The meeting was attended by the Deputy Emir H H Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al-Thani.

Erdogan was accorded an official reception ceremony.

Following meeting with Emir, Erdogan will attend Turkey-Qatar 3rd High Strategic Committee meeting.

Erdogan arrived in Doha late Tuesday as part of the last leg of his official visits to Russia and Kuwait.

Accompanied by Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu, his wife and Chief of General Staff Genenral Hulusi Akar among other delegates, Erdogan was welcomed at the Hamad International Airport by Qatar's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defence Affairs H E Khalid bin Mohammad Al Attiyah, Turkey's Ambassador to Doha Fikret Ozer and other officials.

Turkey backs Qatar in the Gulf crisis that was triggered in June when Saudi Arabia, Egypt, the UAE and Bahrain cut diplomatic and trade ties and imposed a blockade on Qatar.
