Kuwaiti artist rebels against social taboos in works
DOHA, Nov 15 (KUNA) -- The Kuwaiti formative artist Mashael Faisal has taken part in a joint exhibition with her Qatari colleague Nasser Al-Attiah, themed "another dream." Her paintings depict issues preoccupying male and female Kuwaitis and the yearning for breaking some social taboos.
Bulging human eyes and trimmed limbs are symbols reflecting social chains, she said in remarks to KUNA.
She has put 12 works on display at Al-Markhiya Gallery.
The exhibition which opened on Tuesday with attendance of the Kuwaiti Third Secretary, Mohammad Al-Omar, would proceed till January 11. (end) nnd.rk
