The WISE Majlis, a prominent feature of the World Innovation Summit For Education, is a central gathering and exhibition space and serves as an ideal platform for informal interaction and networking opportunities.
It in different zones houses several booths, the Learners' Voice Café, the WISE Research Kiosk, and Learning Labs. This year the WISE Majlis has several new features including giving an opportunity for students to design a creative school. It is also the venue where more than 700 students and teachers from schools in Qatar will experience the best innovative teaching practices, said Dr Asmaa Al Fadala, Director of Research and Content Development, WISE during a media tour of the venue yesterday. 'Majlis area is the heart of WISE. It's a place for networking opportunities, she added.
WISE 2017 summit is being held at the Qatar National Convention Centre (QNCC) under the theme ‘Co-Exist, Co-Create: Learning to Live and Work Together' to address important education challenges of the recent time. Delegates attending the summit will have the opportunity to meet at the WISE Majlis and interact as well as get to know about several educational initiatives, including eight local institutions at the ‘Meet Qatar Zone.'
Different panels are set to discuss important topics such as social entrepreneurship , global citizenship, re-thinking higher education at the WISE Majlis.
WISE Majlis is also the focal point for the WISE research authors of 12 reports including on early childhood, autism and educational leadership.
'Research is one of the pillars of WISE, besides programs and advocacy. We have 12 reports in English and some in Arabic. The WISE Majlis will give an opportunity for networking and engage with the authors, said Dr Al Fadala, who is also a co-author of a research report.
Another major attraction at the WISE Majlis is Education Above All, the global foundation protecting the right of children and youth to quality education.
